Dana's family roots in North Central Kansas go back to the 1870s, when ancestors on the Ames, then Brewer sides of his family arrived to settle in the Republican River Valley. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University, and his Law Degree from Washburn University. He then returned to the Concordia, Kansas area, where he has practiced law for over 45 years.

He serves on numerous Boards and Civic Organizations, including the local hospital, Chamber of Commerce, and CloudCorp. He also serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 12th Judicial District and served 2 terms on the Washburn Law School Board of Governors. Dana is a 30+ year member of the Scandia Lions Club, the Courtland Pride Club and the Concordia Rotary Club.

Dana’s practice is primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and Trust administration, elder law and succession planning for farms and other businesses, as well as real estate law. He likes to travel and spend time with wife, Tina (retired kindergarten teacher and Preschool Director), daughter Marie and husband Garrett Brummett in Wichita, along with other family and friends.
